About the Crime:
The offenders pry open the front or rear door of the business using a crowbar tool. Once inside, the offenders proceed to dismantle the ATM machine removing the USC. In one of the incidents, the offenders cut the cords to the video surveillance equipment and also took USC from the cash register and office drawers in addition to removing USC from the ATM.
Incident Locations:
- 4800 block of West Fulton on January 08, 2023 at 3:20 AM
- 4800 block of West Madison on January 08, 2023 at 4:54 AM
- 4800 block of West Chicago on January 08, 2023 between 12:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
The offenders are described as African American male with a large build wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a lime green Nike swoosh, gray pants, and black shoes and the second offender is a African American female with a slim build wearing a black puffy coat, bright pants with letters on the left leg and tan boots. Both offenders wore black masks and gloves.
About the vehicle(s):
The offenders fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
What you can do:
- Do not touch anything until police arrive.
- Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
- Never resist a robbery. Value your life over any and all property.
- Please share any information you may have with on-scene police officers or with detectives at (312) 746-8253.
- If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
- Never pursue a fleeing offender, provide the information to the police
- Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc...)
- If video surveillance equipment is present, please save a copy of the incident for investigating detectives
