About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to numerous Motor Vehicle Thefts that have occurred in the 009th District (Deering) during the month of January. In all of these incidents, the victims are at a gas station and leave their vehicles running.
Incident times and locations:
- 300 Block of West Garfield Blvd. on January 2, 2023 at 6:00AM.
- 3500 Block of South Damen Avenue on January 2, 2023 at 4:47PM.
- 3500 Block of South Ashland Avenue on January 5, 2023 at 2:46AM.
- 3400 Block of South California Avenue on January 7, 2023 between the hours of 2:47 and 2:53 AM.

What you can do:
- Be aware of this crime and alert your neighbors.
- Pay special attention to any suspicious people loitering in the area.
- Do not leave your car keys in the vehicle. Do not leave unattended when car is running.
- Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) including any vehicle description and license plate information.
