About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to residents of the 018th District of recently reported motor vehicle thefts. In each of the incidents, the victim's park their vehicle inside parking garages. Upon returning to the garage, they discover their vehicle has been stolen. These incidents occurred in Beats 1822, 1831, 1833, and 1834.

Incident times and locations:

• 0-100 block of East Grand Ave, Friday January 6, 2023 in the evening hours.

• 800 block of North Michigan Ave, Sunday January 8, 2023 in the evening hours.

• 300 block of West Ontario St, Friday January 13, 2023 in the morning hours.

• 200 block of East Illinois St, Sunday January 15, 2023 in the evening hours.

• 900 block of North Halsted St, Monday January 16, 2023 in the morning hours.

• Do not leave your keys in your vehicle and turn off the engine.

• Report suspicious activity immediately.

• Keep your doors and windows locked.

• If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for

investigating Detectives.
