About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 012th and 014th Districts of multiple related robbery incidents. In each instance, occurring during the late afternoon/early evening hours, armed offenders approached victims on the public way and demanded the victims' property after threatening use of force. Upon taking possession of the victims’ personal belongings, the offenders entered into and fled in a waiting vehicle.

Incident times and locations:

  •  1300 block of N. Washtenaw Ave on January 29, 2023 at 3:47 pm.
  •  1100 block of N. Campbell Ave on January 29, 2023 at 4:05 pm.
  •  2600 block of W. Augusta Blvd on January 29, 2023 at 4:25 pm.
  •  500 block of N. Campbell Ave on January 29, 2023 at 5:35 pm.
  •  600 block of N. Campbell Ave on January 29, 2023 at 5:40 pm.
Offender descriptions:

The offenders are described as 4 African American males, 15-25 years of age, wearing dark clothing and ski masks. The offenders are armed with dark-colored handguns.

What you can do:

  • Be aware of these crimes and alert family and friends who live in the area
  •  Be aware of your surroundings and free from distractions
  •  If you are confronted by an assailant, remain calm
  •  Pay special attention to suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area
  •  Call 911 immediately if you are a victim or witness to a crime and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) including any vehicle description and license plate information
  •  If approached by a witness to an incident, request they remain on the scene when possible or obtain contact information
