About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents of the 001st District of recently reported robberies. In the each incident, the offender approaches victims in parking garages, implies he has a firearm, and announces a robbery. The offender then orders the victims to give up their personal property before fleeing the scene on foot. These incidents have occurred in Beats 0111 and 0122.
Incident times and locations:
• 0-100 block of East Randolph St., Thursday January 26, 2023 in the morning hours
• 200 block of West Washington St., Saturday February 4, 2023 in the afternoon hours
About the Offenders:
Male, African American, 5’06” to 5'08", 150-200lbs, 15-18 years of age, wearing black and brown jacket
What you can do:
• Always be aware of your surroundings.
• If confronted by an assailant, remain calm.
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, tattoos, acne, limps, etc).
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide information to police.
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people including any vehicle description and license plate information.
