About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing) of Burglary incidents which have occurred during the months of January and February. In these incidents, an unknown Offender gained entry to the premise through an unlocked door or by damaging a door to enter and remove items. These incidents occurred in the geographical locations listed below:

Incident locations and times:

• 6100 Block of South Kenwood Ave., on January 26, 2023, at 07:25 AM.
• 6100 Block of South Kenwood Ave., between February 03-06, 2023, between 05:30 PM. -08:25 AM.
• 6100 Block of South University Ave., on February 05, 2023, at 04:15 PM.
• 6100 Block of South Woodlawn Ave., on February 08, 2023, between 04:43 AM., - 07:45 AM.

About the offenders:

JG129889- Unknown Offender wearing a black hat, black coat, and ripped blue jeans.

What you can do:

•  Keep the perimeter of your property well lit
•  Immediately report any suspicious activity
•  Keep doors and windows secured
•  Immediately repair any broken windows, doors, or locks
•  If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for investigating detectives
•  Make an agreement with your neighbors to watch each other's home for suspicious activity
•  If you are a victim, do not touch anything and call the police immediately
•  If approached by a witness to the incident, request their contact information.
