About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 009th District (Deering) of burglary related incidents which have occurred during the months of January/February. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) gain entry into residential homes and take property from therein. These incidents have occurred in the general geographical locations listed below:

Incident times and locations:

•  3000 Block of South Broad Street on January 27, 2023 between the hours of 2:30PM and 6:00PM.
•  2800 Block of South Thomas Barclay Drive on February 4, 2023 between the hours of 4:30PM and 10:00PM.
•  2800 Block of South Broad Street on February 6, 2023 at 7:29PM.
•  3100 Block of South May Street on February 7, 2023 between the hours of 6:15PM and 6:30PM.

What you can do:

•  Keep the perimeter of your property well lit
•  Report suspicious activity immediately
•  Keep doors and windows secured
•  Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks
•  If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for investigating detectives.
•  If you are a victim do not touch anything, call police immediately
•  If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
•  Secure window air conditioner units.
