About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents of the 8th District (Chicago Lawn) of an increase in Robbery related incidents during the month of February. In these incidents, the offenders, armed with a firearm, approach the victims and demand property. These incidents have occurred in the general geographical locations listed below:
Incident times and locations:
4900 Block of W. 47th Street on February 11, 2023 at approximately 04:45 P.M.
4700 Block of S. Laporte on February 11 at approximately 10:30 P.M.
Offender Description:
Two (2) African American male offenders, approximately 17 to 19 years of age, 5'05 to 6'00, 120 to 160 lbs
What you can do:
- Always be aware of your surroundings.
- Report suspicious activity immediately.
- If you are confronted by an assailant, remain calm.
- Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc.).
- Never pursue a fleeing assailant; provide the information to the police.
- If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information.
- Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible.
