About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to business operating in the 020thth District (Lincoln), 019th District (Town Hall) and 018th District (Central) of burglary related incidents which have occurred during the month of February. In these incidents, offender(s) gain entry into business by braking the front door and take property from therein. These incidents have occurred during the in early morning hours in the general geographical locations listed below:

Incident times and locations:

  •  5500 block of North Milwaukee on January 21, 2023 at 5:35am
  •  4900 block of West Irving Park on January 23, 2023 at 4:30am.
  •  4000 block of North Kedzie on January 24, 2023 at 5:30am.
  •  2600 block of North Kedzie on February 4, 2023 at 6:00am.
  •  3200 block of West Diversey on February 4, 2023 at 6:12am
  •  1700 block of North Marcey on February 4, 2023 at 06:24am
  •  1000 block of W Fullerton on February 7, 2023 at 01:58am
  •  400 block of West Belmont on February 7, 2023 at 02:35am
  •  300 block of West North Ave on February 8, 2023 at 02:41am
  •  3100 block of West Montrose on February 8, 2023 at 3:23am
  •  5200 block of North Lincoln Ave on February 8, 2023 at 03:45am
  •  4600 block of North Kedzie on February 16, 2023 at 1:36am
  •  1200 block of East 47th on February 16, 2023 at 3:01am
  •  1700 block of North Marcey St on February 16, 2023 at 3:28am
  •  5500 block of North Milwaukee on February 16, 2023 at 5:41am
  •  2900 block of North Broadway on February 22, 2023 at 2:48am
  •  2900 block of West Devon on February 22, 2023 at 5:45am
  •  2500 block of West Lawrence on February 22, 2023 at 6:00am
Description of Offender:

3-4 African American males, wearing all dark clothing including black ski masks and hooded sweatshirts.

What you can do:

  •  Keep the perimeter of your property well lit
  •  Report suspicious activity immediately
  •  Keep doors and windows secured
  •  Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks
  •  If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for investigating detectives.
  •  If you are a victim do not touch anything, call police immediately
  •  If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
