About the Crime:
This alert gives notice of robberies which occurred on Bt. 632 in the 006th District. In these incidents, offenders approach victims in the 8700 block of S. Cottage Grove parking lot and have produced a two-toned handgun, taking property from the victims while threatening their life. In two of the incidents, the victim had just left a financial institution.
Incident locations and dates:
- 8600 block of S. Cottage Grove 16-Jan-2023
- 8500 block of S. St. Lawrence 29-Jan-2023
- 700 block E. 87th St. 02-Feb-2023
- 700 block of E. 87th St. 03-Feb-2023
The offenders are described as 2-3 male African Americans, 20-30yrs, 509, Black Ski Masks. The offenders have fled in various vehicles.
What you can do:
- Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people, including any vehicle description and license plate information.
- If confronted by offenders, attempt to remain calm.
- Keep tracking software and security locks on your cellular phone.
- Document serial numbers for your electronics and keep a record at your residence.
- Be aware of your surroundings and walk in well-lit areas.
