Forty-first Ward precinct captain William "Bill" Darling has been appointed Deputy GOP Committeeman, said Matt Podgorski, president of the Northwest Side GOP Club.
"Bill has worked on many political campaigns and has been integral in organizing our club events for many years. He will be perfect to assume this role assisting Ammie and serving the residents of the 41st Ward," said Matt Podgorski in a press release.
Darling was appointed by by Ammie Kessem, the Forty-first Ward GOP Committeeman and Northwest Side GOP Club (NWSGOP) Vice President. Deputy committeemen help party activities by setting up precinct captains, finding candidates, hiring election judges and recruiting volunteers for ward and club events.
Darling is Managing Broker at Gateway Realty LLC. He was previously Managing Broker at Mid-America Realty for several decades. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from Loyola University Chicago.
As the Forty-first Ward GOP Committeeman Kessem is an elected leader responsible for the Northwest Side GOP Club’s direction. The Northwest Side GOP Club has more than 500 members.
"The Club is structured by Ward/Township, with each of the five elected Republican Committeemen working with Executive Director Jeff Fiedler and Chairman Matt Podgorski,” the NWSGOP website reads. “The Northwest Side GOP is a people-powered organization, and we would love for you to get involved.”
Chicago Republican Party Chairman Steve Boulton encouraged Chicagoans to join the group in a recent blog post recounting the April 4 election results.
“The Chicago GOP will be looking to expand our volunteer base and convert conservative Democrats and moderates who have finally had enough, offering reasoned policies and good candidates in the 2024 General Assembly elections, the Cook County States Attorney election, the Chicago School Board elections, and of course, the Presidential election. It will be a great journey and I ask you all to come with us!” Boulton wrote.
