Reporter William J. Kelly recently posted a video showing the Inn of Chicago is closed to the public to host illegal immigrants only.

Standing in front of the hotel Kelly asked the residents where they are from mostly resulting in Venezuela and Nicaragua. The Inn of Chicago regularly books out at $300 per night.

“It appears to be a migrant hotel. I don't know why this information would be kept from the people of Chicago. But according to Mayor Lightfoot, it will cost us $20 million a month,” Kelly said in his video posted by the Daily Caller.

At one point in the video, those operating the hotel prevent Kelly from entering.

“We’re not sure if the people who confronted Kelly were staff or members of an NGO [Non-governmental organization], but they didn’t want to answer any of Kelly’s questions and immediately called police — the same police who aren’t allowed to stop actual crime but are allowed to confront and detain citizens that just want to know what’s happening to their city,” MRCTV reported on Kelly’s video.

Kelly’s video comes just after Lori Lightfoot, whose last day is May 15, called for an emergency declaration to deal with the city’s burgeoning problem with illegal immigrants flooding into the so-called “sanctuary city.” Lightfoot’s emergency declaration notes “the City's resources now stretched to the breaking point, extraordinary measures are necessary.” The declaration points to waves of illegal immigrants entering the city “by various means, including on airplanes, by bus and on foot.” The declaration notes "a shortage of available space, existing facilities are full, newly created facilities are full, and hundreds of migrants are now temporarily sheltering in police stations.”

Ald. Ray Lopez slammed Lightfoot on Fox News.

“Well, Lori Lightfoot's capacity to amaze us never ceases to end,” Lopez said. “You know, the fact that she has been spending $20 million a month since August of last year after declaring Chicago would be welcoming to all with no restrictions in February 2021. And now to say we're at a breaking point is just outrageous. She helped create this crisis by not putting pressure on her Democratic colleagues in the federal government to address the illegal immigration that we see to address the asylum seekers that are not being processed that we continue to see. And now the city of Chicago's 22 police districts have become housing shelters. Our park districts are becoming housing shelters.”
