Streets Around Grant Park Begin to Open Overnight Following the NASCAR Chicago Street Race

Select streets will begin reopening following the conclusion of the NASCAR Chicago Street Race overnight on Sunday, July 2 into Monday, July 3. Streets will reopen in a phased approach with most streets reopening by July 5. Some inner perimeter street closures are expected to remain in effect until July 13 as demobilization of the track wall, fence, and viewing structures takes place.

  • NOTE: The priority Streets to reopen are DuSable Lake Shore Dr., Michigan Ave., and Columbus Dr. Other street closures will remain in effect as demobilization of the track wall, fence, and viewing structures takes place.
  • Northbound DuSable Lake Shore Dr. will begin reopening Sunday, July 2
  • Southbound Michigan Ave will begin reopening the morning of Monday, July 3rd.
  • Southbound DuSable Lake Shore Drive and Roosevelt Rd will begin reopening the morning of Tuesday, July 4th.
  • All demobilization activity is expected to conclude by Saturday, July 15.
