CHICAGO – Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04) issued the following statement after President Biden granted a Major Disaster Declaration for Illinois:
“Last week, I joined all members of the Illinois delegation urging President Biden to issue a Major Disaster Declaration for the State of Illinois from the recent severe storms and flooding in Cook County. I thank President Biden for heeding the call of our communities and taking this important step. While the loss of cherished items and homes is irreparable, this declaration will unlock federal relief and assistance programs to help our communities recover.”
