City of Prospect Heights Police/Fire Commission met Oct. 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

CALL TO ORDER – At 4:00 PM, Deputy Clerk Schultheis called to order the Regular Meeting of the Fire Police Commission at City Hall, 8 N Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.

ROLL CALL - Deputy Clerk Schultheis called roll. A quorum was present.

COMMISSIONERS PRESENT - Chairman Hoffman (electronically), Commissioners - Fiorito, Riebman 

OTHER OFFICIALS PRESENT - Police Chief Caponigro, Deputy Clerk Schultheis 

MOTION TO ALLOW CHAIRMAN HOFFMAN TO ATTEND THE MEETING ELECTRONICALLY, AND APPROVE COMMISSIONER FIORITO AS CHAIRMAN PRO TEM - Commissioner Riebman moved to allow Chairman Hoffman to attend the meeting electronically due to offsite employment obligations, and approve Commissioner Fiorito as Chairman Pro Tem; seconded by Commissioner Fiorito.

ROLL CALL VOTE: 

AYES - Fiorito, Riebman 

NAYS - None

ABSENT - Hoffman 

Motion carried 2-0; one absent

APPROVAL OF MINUTES – 

A. Approval of the Regular September 27, 2023 Meeting Minutes

B. Approval of the Regular September 27, 2023 Executive Session Minutes - Commissioner Riebman moved for omnibus approval of Approval of the Regular September 27, 2023 Meeting Minutes and Approval of the Regular September 27, 2023 Executive Session Minutes; seconded by Chairman Pro Tem Fiorito. There was unanimous approval.

ROLL CALL VOTE: 

AYES - Hoffman, Fiorito, Riebman 

NAYS - None

ABSENT - None

Motion carried 3-0 

CLOSED SESSION - None 

NEW BUSINESS - It was noted that the City has a Halloween PSA up, and the Halloween Trick or Treating hours are on the City a Police social media.

OLD BUSINESS - None 

DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES/CORRESPONDENCE – Chef Caponigro said that the Fire District, the Police Department and volunteers will be part of the annual Thanksgiving food drive. Route 12 is lending vans and Tony's will set up the food bags. The food will be sorted and delivered to families at Harper College.

- New officer, Jarred Musson, is number in the class in academics and firearms at the Police Academy.

- An agenda for the October 28th Police Sergeants interviews will be sent out

PUBLIC COMMENT - None 

The Next Regular Meeting of the Fire Police Commission is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 4 PM, City Hall, 8 North Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.

ADJOURNMENT - At 4:12 PM, Commissioner Riebman moved to Adjourn; seconded by Chairman Pro Tem Fiorito. There was unanimous approval.
