Chicago entrepreneur and activist, Ja’Mal Green, has expressed his admiration for Texas Governor Greg Abbott's efforts in securing the border despite the absence of federal intervention. Despite their disagreements on many issues, Green acknowledges Abbott's commitment to his constituents.

Green stated, "While I disagree with Governor Abbott on fundamentally most issues, what he’s doing at the border right now standing up to the president and his bussing of migrants to democrat cities is the most genius plan that’s obviously working". He further emphasized the importance of leaders prioritizing their constituents saying, "Whether you’re Republican or Democrat, watching leaders put their constituents first at all cost is what we all want to see!". Lastly, he directed a message towards his own party: "Democrats need to take notes."

Governor Abbott has been actively opposing federal immigration policies. He has utilized members of the Texas National Guard to strengthen security in heavily trafficked areas of the border and establish wire fencing. The governor maintains that Texas is under an "invasion" and therefore has a constitutional right to self-defense. Except for one, all Republican governors have publicly supported Abbott's actions.

In terms of political experience, Green participated as a candidate in both the 2019 and 2023 Chicago mayoral elections. However, he withdrew from the 2019 race and ranked sixth in the initial round of voting in 2023.

Beyond politics, Green contributes significantly to his community. He is the founder of Majostee Allstars, a non-profit organization focused on youth development. Additionally, he serves as president of My Turn to Own, another non-profit dedicated to housing counseling services.
