The City of Chicago, in collaboration with the Mayor's Advisory Council on LGBTQ+ Affairs, Pride Parade organizers, local businesses, residents, and multiple city agencies, has been working to establish a sustainable and accessible route for the 2024 Pride Parade. The collective endeavor is aimed at fostering community engagement while ensuring an efficient allocation of resources.

This year, it has been announced that 150 entries will participate in the parade. This expansion allows additional community organizations and schools to join in the celebration. In a change from previous years, the parade will begin an hour earlier, starting at 11 a.m., and will kick off at Sheridan and Broadway. This arrangement is designed to keep major arterial and side streets open for safety vehicles and traffic access while providing spectators with additional opportunities to move towards the east side of the route.

The collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to prioritizing accessibility and sustainability with the aim of creating an inclusive and vibrant celebration that enriches the fabric of Chicago while minimizing logistical strains.

The City of Chicago remains committed to fostering deeper and more robust community engagement so that Pride can continue to honor the LGBTQ+ community's activism, visibility, and achievements. The city looks forward to staying committed to the LGBTQ+ community and celebrating Pride in 2024 and beyond.
