The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced additional closures and traffic impacts related to the ongoing resurfacing of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

Effective immediately, a single lane closure on Southbound DLSD will be in place between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive from noon on Friday, September 20 to 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 22.

Beginning Saturday, September 21 at 9:00 p.m., all southbound lanes between Belmont Avenue and LaSalle Drive will be fully closed until 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 22.

Following pavement milling operations, the roadway base was found to be in poorer condition than anticipated, resulting in potholes on the milled surface. These additional closures will improve the condition of the pavement and progress the work ahead of next week's forecasted rain storms.

"We remind drivers that the area is a milled surface and to drive with caution and observe the posted reduced speeds during construction."
