The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) has announced new traffic changes due to the resurfacing of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The affected area spans from LaSalle Drive to Hollywood Avenue. Starting Monday evening, October 14, there will be temporary overnight lane closures for pavement marking work, depending on weather conditions.

From October 14 to October 17, southbound lanes on North DuSable Lake Shore Drive will be reduced to one lane each night between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive starting at 7:00 p.m. Both northbound and southbound lanes will also see a reduction to three lanes between Hollywood Avenue and Lawrence Avenue. All ramps will remain accessible, and all lanes are expected to reopen by 6:00 a.m. the next morning.

Drivers are advised by CDOT to plan their trips accordingly and expect delays. They are reminded to stay vigilant for flaggers and construction signs in work zones, adhere to posted speed limits, and watch out for workers and machinery.

CDOT will continue providing updates on lane closures as the project advances. The most recent information regarding traffic impacts can be accessed online at chicago.gov/CDOT.
