The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) has announced that repair work on the DuSable Lake Shore Drive Bridge and viaduct network over the Ogden Slip, located just north of the Chicago River, will commence on September 25. The repairs are anticipated to continue until Summer 2024. This project involves the removal and replacement of structural steel hanger assemblies and expansion joints critical for maintaining the bridge.

Starting Monday, September 25 at 9:00 a.m., the lower level of DuSable Lake Shore Drive between Randolph Street and Grand Avenue will be reduced to two lanes in each direction.

On October 9, changes will affect the upper level of DuSable Lake Shore Drive between Monroe Street and Ontario Street, which will be reduced to three lanes in each direction. Additional lane closures are expected during off-peak hours.

Motorists should plan for extra travel time and are encouraged to remain attentive to flaggers and construction signage when navigating through work zones.
