Conservative commentator Steve Cortes has described former U.S. President Andrew Jackson as a "hero" and encouraged Americans to "revere" his legacy, emphasizing his role as a defender of ordinary citizens. Cortes expressed these views in a post on January 21 on the social media platform X.

“To the contrary, Andrew Jackson is a hero and should be revered throughout our land as a warrior for regular citizens, both on the battlefield and in politics,” Cortes said on X. “You and your Palestinian flag can pound sand. Make Chicago’s Jackson Blvd great again!”

Cortes's remarks were made in response to a social media post by Carlos Ballesteros, a senior investigative reporter at Injustice Watch. Ballesteros suggested that "The city of Chicago, along with every other city and town nationwide, should rid itself of every street and park named after Andrew Jackson," according to his post on X.

According to Encyclopædia Britannica, Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States, is recognized for expanding democratic participation by broadening voting rights and eliminating the national debt during his presidency—the only time this has been achieved in U.S. history. He also negotiated significant treaties that opened millions of acres of land for settlement and strengthened the executive branch by asserting presidential authority in matters such as vetoing legislation he deemed harmful to the people.

Cortes is known as a political commentator, financial market expert, and former campaign strategist with ties to Trump campaigns. He is also the founder and president of the League of American Workers, an organization focused on advocating for American workers' rights and interests.
