The City of Chicago's Department of Law is set to host its second annual Outside Counsel Open House. This event aims to engage local law firms by providing an informational and networking session about the department's retainment of outside counsel across various legal practice areas.
This year's focus will be on opportunities for participation in the department's transactional and litigation divisions. According to the Department of Law, attorneys will share insights on how outside counsel is utilized in multiple litigation areas, including collections, constitutional issues, commercial matters, employment disputes, torts, federal civil rights cases, labor concerns, and more.
Law firms of all sizes are encouraged to register for this event. It is scheduled for March 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Department of Law’s LaSalle Street office.
Interested parties must submit their firm's materials through an application on the Department of Law’s website. Pre-registration is mandatory and should be completed by February 21, 2025.
