The Chicago Sky has announced the signing of Alex "Ally" Wilson to a training camp contract. Details of the agreement were not disclosed, in line with team policy.
Wilson is currently playing for Perth Lynx in the Australian WNBL, where she averages 15.7 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.7 rebounds over 32.8 minutes per game. She leads her team in several categories including points and assists. In her first year with Perth, Wilson earned the team's MVP award and was named to the All-WNBL First Team.
The 5-9 guard began her professional career at age 16 with Adelaide Lightning in the WNBL and has since played for various teams including Eastern Mavericks and Townsville Fire among others.
Wilson's accolades include being a two-time WNBL champion, receiving the 2014 WNBL Rookie of the Year award, and being named Premier League MVP in 2017. She has also been recognized as a four-time Premier League/NBL1 Central All-Star Five awardee.
Internationally, Wilson contributed to Australia's bronze medal win at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in 3×3 basketball and continued to achieve success with medals at subsequent FIBA events leading up to a fifth-place finish at the Paris Olympics.
The Chicago Sky will start their regular season on May 17 against Indiana at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. They have scheduled three preseason games for early May against Minnesota and Brazil's National Team.
