Jan Schakowsky, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 9th district, has recently shared her thoughts on various issues through a series of tweets. Schakowsky, who has been a member of Congress since 1999 and previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, expressed her views on topics ranging from women's achievements to abortion rights and immigration law.

On March 8, 2025, Schakowsky celebrated International Women's Day, acknowledging "the outstanding achievements of women and girls in the United States and across the globe." She highlighted how "women of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities are taking on leadership positions," emphasizing their roles in making their voices heard and fighting for basic human rights.

On March 10, 2025, Schakowsky addressed the issue of abortion rights following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. She stated that "anti-abortion extremists have relentlessly threatened and attacked patients and health care providers—blatantly violating federal law." She criticized former President Trump and Republicans for attempting to undermine critical protections instead of prosecuting those she referred to as criminals.

Later that same day, Schakowsky commented on an immigration matter involving a legal permanent resident. She described it as an "alarming violation of immigration law" by stating that an attempt by the Trump administration to arrest and deport this individual over their speech would infringe upon both immigration law and the First Amendment while compromising safety within Jewish communities.
