Jan Schakowsky, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois' 9th district since 1999, recently shared her views on several issues via social media. Schakowsky has been an advocate for various causes during her tenure in Congress.

On March 12, 2025, Schakowsky criticized the actions of former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party, stating "Trump and Republicans are working hard every day to make your children's school worse and take away your health care so they can give tax cuts to billionaires."

Later that day, she addressed concerns about a program designed to assist deaf Americans with phone calls. She stated "This week, I sent a letter to @FCC with 22 of my colleagues concerned about deteriorating quality of a program that helps deaf Americans make phone calls. This community deserves high quality service and ASL interpreters deserve good working conditions and competitive wages."

In another post on March 12, Schakowsky announced her partnership with Senator Ed Markey to address tax loopholes exploited by oil companies. She remarked "For too long, greedy oil companies have been able to take advantage of a massive loophole that allows them to avoid paying taxes on tar sands oil. I'm partnering with @SenMarkey to close this loophole and ensure Big Oil companies pay their fair share."
