FOIA Request to Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice Regarding State Agency Contracts with Vendors on March 24, 2025.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in government affairs, we have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice. Our request seeks detailed documentation concerning the fulfillment of contractual obligations for all contracts executed or modified between this state agency and their vendors during January of the 2023 fiscal year.
Specifically, we are requesting records that verify the scope of work performed, deliverables completed, and any reports or evaluations related to these contracts. This information is crucial for ensuring that public institutions are held accountable and operate with transparency.
As members of The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to investigating governmental actions through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws, we believe access to these records is vital for informing the American electorate. We have also requested a fee waiver given our role as media professionals committed to disseminating information to the public.
