Jan Schakowsky, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 9th district, has been active on social media addressing issues related to national security and Social Security. Serving since 1999, Schakowsky continues to voice her concerns on various platforms.

On March 24, 2025, Jan Schakowsky criticized the intelligence community in a tweet, highlighting her experience: "I served on the Intelligence Committee for eight years. This level of stupidity and incompetence gets our troops and allies killed."

The following day, March 25, 2025, she addressed concerns regarding Social Security contributions and the actions of certain political figures: "Each and every paycheck you earn, you're paying into Social Security. You make this payment with the promise that when you retire, you'll have income to rely on. The GOP, led by Trump and Musk, have decided that you no longer have the right to your money."

In another post on March 25, 2025, Schakowsky proposed legislative measures to strengthen Social Security benefits: "We must expand Social Security benefits, not cut them, and I have a bill to do just that. The Social Security Expansion Act will protect the national treasure that is Social Security by extending the trust fund’s solvency for 75 years and expanding benefits by $2,400 a year."
