Delia C. Ramirez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 3rd District, expressed her views through a series of tweets on March 26, 2025. Her first message addressed international and humanitarian concerns, the second discussed legal actions in her district, and the third highlighted her personal concerns about immigration policies.
In a tweet from March 26, Ramirez stood with her colleagues in urging for a resolution in the Middle East conflict. She stated, "I stood with my colleagues to call for a ceasefire and an end to Netanyahu's campaign to ethnically cleanse Gaza. The hostages must be returned to their families and Palestinians must have safety, freedom, and self-determination. We can carve a path forward that recognizes."
In another message posted later the same day, Ramirez acknowledged the efforts of community members and legal representatives taking action against unlawful detentions. She wrote, "That is why I am so grateful that community members and legal representatives have taken legal action to demand the release of those who remain detained and prevent future unlawful arrests. My office will continue working with the families of IL-03 constituents who have been."
Finally, Ramirez voiced her distress regarding immigration enforcement actions. In her social media post, she expressed concern for affected families, saying, "My heart is heavy for the families targeted by ICE raids in our city. Trump and Homan have declared war on our neighbors, our friends, our families: the people we work and worship with. We must fight like heaven and hell to protect and bring families together again."
