The Cook County Sheriff's Office has been active on social media, sharing various events and expressions of gratitude through recent tweets. In a light-hearted celebratory mood, they showcased their K9 unit, recognized essential services, and highlighted community agricultural initiatives.

On April 13, the Sheriff's Office marked the birthday of their K9 unit members. "If one's a company, two's a crowd, and three's a party, what makes FOUR? Four paw-some pups celebrating their big day together!" The tweet featured four dogs, including Chester, a German Shorthair Pointer trained for narcotics detection, and Gryf, highlighting their vital roles in law enforcement.

In appreciation of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Sheriff's Office expressed gratitude toward those working behind the scenes in public safety. On April 14, they wrote, "In recognition of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we celebrate the true heroes behind the scenes! Your commitment to service doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you!" This acknowledgment underscores the critical work of emergency telecommunicators.

Furthermore, on the same day, they celebrated National Gardening Day by highlighting their Urban Farm initiative. The Office tweeted, "Oh, my gourd, it’s National Gardening Day! Lettuce celebrate our very own Urban Farm, which grows everything from kale to tomatoes to herbs and flowers." The farm produces goods sold to restaurants and at farmers' markets in Chicago, with proceeds benefiting various programming efforts.

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW) is an annual event celebrated each April to honor telecommunicators for their dedication and invaluable work in public safety.
