The Cook County Sheriff's Office recently shared updates on various initiatives and events via social media. These posts highlight significant activities undertaken by the department, ranging from crime recovery operations to community engagement efforts.

On June 9, 2025, the Cook County Sheriff's Office reported that its Organized Retail Crime team had successfully recovered $400,000 worth of stolen goods linked to cargo thefts across the Chicagoland area. Isadore House has been charged with Felony Theft following a raid by Sheriff’s Police on a closed storefront and storage facility in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The following day, June 10, 2025, another update highlighted the work of the Cook County Sheriff's Office Treatment Response Team (TRT). This initiative combines law enforcement resources with support from Licensed Clinical Social Workers to provide harm-reduction and treatment services for individuals dealing with substance abuse and mental health disorders.

Later that same day, the Sheriff's Office shared news about upcoming community events. In a tweet, they mentioned the successful commencement of activities such as Opening Ceremonies, Plane Pull, and Cop on a Rooftop. These events serve as a prelude to the Torch Run happening later this month. The office encouraged donations to support athletes participating in these events through their link provided in the tweet.

Additional information for Step 3: The Torch Run is an annual event supporting Special Olympics Illinois.
