An eggroll manufacturer, Twisted Eggroll, will expand its operations with the help of an $859,238 Neighborhood Opportunity Fund grant. The City Council approved this grant today to facilitate the company's move from The Hatchery food incubator to a new location in Grand Crossing.

Twisted Eggroll plans to use the funds to purchase and rehabilitate a 6,500-square-foot building at 657 E. 75th St., acquired from the Cook County Land Bank. This $1.4 million project is expected to create up to ten full-time jobs.

Founded in 2015, Twisted Eggroll specializes in producing both fresh and frozen eggrolls.

The Neighborhood Opportunity Fund is designed to allocate fees collected from downtown construction projects towards commercial corridor investments on Chicago's South, Southwest, and West sides. Grants exceeding $250,000 require approval from the City Council.
