The Cook County Sheriff's Office has been active on social media, sharing updates and events related to their operations and community involvement. Their recent posts highlight a range of activities from celebrating the birthday of a K9 unit member to offering community services.

On July 8, 2025, the Cook County Sheriff's Office shared a post about a special celebration for one of their K9 unit members. "No time for tea & biscuits when brats and BONE-in wings are on the menu for this hot dog's 2nd birthday!" The post celebrates Darwin, a Labrador Retriever serving as a cadaver dog with the department.

Later that day, they posted about an event aimed at empowering seniors. "Recently we hosted a Senior self-defense class at the Lemont Public Library with one of the most engaged and enthusiastic groups yet." This initiative was designed to enhance confidence among participants by teaching them self-defense techniques.

In another post on July 8, 2025, the Sheriff's Office highlighted their ongoing efforts to support unhoused individuals through their Housing Assistance Resource Program (SHARP). They stated that "The Cook County Sheriff's Housing Assistance Resource Program (SHARP) continues to provide unhoused individuals with the materials they need, especially in the heat." They also provided contact information for those in need of assistance.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office is led by Sheriff Thomas J. Dart and serves one of the largest counties in Illinois.
