City of Wheaton Public Library Board met June 24

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

I. Call to Order 

The Board of Trustees of the Wheaton Public Library held a Special Board meeting on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Board President Laurie Metanchuk called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. Members present in person at roll call: Christine Fenne, Vallari Talapatra, and Laurie Metanchuk. Attending via Zoom was: Al Herbach, and Bob Lyon. Absent: Bob Rammer, Simone Morton, and Steve Siemer. Betsy Adamowski, Library Director and recording secretary for this meeting, Ed Sirovatka, IT/Facilities Manager, and Nikki Bridges, Studio GC Architecture & Interiors, were also in attendance. 

II. Citizens to be Heard 

None. 

III. Motion to Approve moving forward, to the City Council, the recommendation of awarding Via Meridiana Contractors (VMC), LLC for Library Plaza Restoration Project for a total of $829,442.03 Ms. Talapatra moved and Mr. Herbach seconded to approve the Motion to Approve moving forward, to the City Council, the recommendation of awarding Via Meridiana Contractors (VMC), LLC for Library Plaza Restoration Project for a total of $829,442.03 

Discussion occurred on how the review process was conducted. Nikki Bridges, Studio GC Architect, was in attendance to give a brief overview.

IV. Adjournment: 

There being no further business of the Wheaton Public Library Board of Trustees, Mrs. Fenne moved and Mr. Herbach seconded that the meeting be adjourned. A voice vote was taken and the motion for adjournment carried at 7:13 p.m.
