Chicago Fire FC II secured a 6-1 victory over Columbus Crew 2 at SeatGeek Stadium on Sunday, marking the team's third consecutive win. With this result, Chicago Fire FC II remains in third place in the Eastern Conference, trailing Philadelphia Union II by three points and first-place New York Red Bulls II by six.
Trip Fleming and Harold Osorio each scored twice for Chicago, while Claudio Cassano and Dean Boltz added one goal apiece. Cassano also contributed two assists, becoming the first Fire player of the season to reach double digits in assists with 10, which leads the league.
The match began with Fleming scoring in the second minute after connecting with Cassano's cross. Columbus equalized in the 15th minute, but Cassano restored Chicago's lead just before halftime. Fleming scored again early in the second half, followed quickly by Boltz’s goal. Osorio entered as a substitute and scored twice to complete the scoring for Chicago.
Following this win, Chicago Fire FC II will face NYCFC II on Friday, August 8 at Belson Stadium in Queens. The match is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be available to stream for free on MLSNEXTPro.com.
