I know summer construction season can be a hassle. Even if you aren't trying to drive on torn up streets or walking around missing sidewalk squares, the construction noise certainly can be annoying. Infrastructure projects are a necessity though, whether it's replacing 100-year-old water mains, resurfacing a street that's littered with potholes from the harsh Chicago winter, or installing new fiber internet capability in an area, these projects pay off in the long run.

Dowell retains 3rd Ward alderman seat
Incumbent Patricia "Pat" Dowell won the 3rd Ward Alderman race Tuesday night, bringing in 8,647 votes to challenger Alexandria Willis' 3,884 with all 41 precincts reporting.
