Illinois Sate Board of Education reviews proposed guidelines

The Illinois Sate Board of Education met Friday to review the Proposed School Actions Guideline.

ILLINOIS GENERAL ASSEMBLY CHICAGO EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES TASK FORCE State Representative Cynthia Soto and State Senator Heather Steans, Co-Chairs MEETING NOTICE and PROPOSED AGENDA: CEFTF SCHOOL ACTIONS COMMITTEE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2016 | 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM THOMPSON CENTER | 100 W. RANDOLPH ST, 2nd Floor – Rm 2-029 CHICAGO, IL Please Note: All attendees will be required to present a photo ID/State ID at the Thompson Center Security Desk to access elevators to the 2nd Floor Conference Room. I. Welcome and Introductions: Valencia Rias-Winstead, School Actions Committee Chair Roll Call for attendance II. CPS CEO’s Proposed School Actions Guidelines - Overview TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY TO SUBMIT COMMENTS ON THE DRAFT GUIDELINES. You may submit feedback to CPS directly via email to: CEOGuidelines@cps.edu III. Public Comment As time permits - Comments should address the agenda items. Members of the public may also submit written comments to: ceftf.ilga@gmail.com IV. CPS’ Next Steps • Final School Actions Guidelines must be released by November 1st, 2016. • CPS CEO’s Proposed School Actions (with Draft School Transition Plans) must be released by December 1st, 2016. • Community Meetings and Public Hearings will be held in January 2017. • Any School Actions approved by the Board of Education will be implemented in the coming school year.
