The Better Government Association (BGA), an Illinois government watchdog organization, will host a BGA Idea Forum on the education funding debate in Springfield on March 30 at Roosevelt University’s Ganz Hall.
State politicians are considering potential changes to Illinois’ school funding formula. The BGA Idea Forum will feature an explanation of the current formula, as well as an expert panel explaining what the formula might look like in the future, how the future formula could affect students and how the formula could be improved.
The event will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Those interested in attending should register on the BGA website or with Annum Haider at ahaider@bettergov.org or (312) 821-9031.
The event and other BGA civic engagement programming is supported by the McCormick Foundation.
