Hillside Village Board discusses hiring of a new police officer

Mail-in ballot applications for the April 4, 2017 election are now available in the Hillside Clerk's Office or at cookcountyclerk.com. Completed forms must be received at Cook County Clerk's Office by Thursday, March 30, 2017.

Early voting for April 4, 2017 Municipal Election is March 20-April 3, 2017. Nearest polling places to Hillside are the Villages of Bellwood, 3200 Washington Blvd., or Melrose Park, 1000 N. 25th Avenue. Hours are Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Approval of Ordinance 17-01, amending (Decision. Item) Article IE , Alcoholic Beverages, decreasing B-2 licenses from 5 to 4 for beer and wine packaged goods.

B. Approval of gross payroll for period (Decision. Item)

February 18, through March 3, 2017, in the amount of $272,388. 71.

8. PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE: (Trustee Andersen)

A. Approval of annual service contract (Decision. Item)

(May 15, 2017 to May 14, 2018) with Vertiv (formerly Emerson Network Power, Liebert Services Inc.), 251 Holbrook Drive, Wheeling, IL 600 90, in the amount of S11, 249.92, for UPS System. The maintenance contract is an increase of S535.71 from last year.

9. PUBLIC SAFETY AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE: (Trustee Watson)

A. Approval to authorize the Police (Decision. Item)

Department to purchase two 2017 Chevy Tahoe police vehicles from Miles Chevrolet, 150 W. Pershing Road, Decatur, IL 62526, at a total cost of $78, 770.00. These vehicles will replace units 402 and 406.

B. Approval of an Ordinance for the (Decision. Item) prevention of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

C. Approval of Village Administrator to (Decision. Item) contact the Fire and Police Commission to hire a new police officer due to the resignation of Officer Tyler Reeder.

D. Community Watch Meeting is Wednesday, (Information. Item)

March 29, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room.
