Committee for Ed Smith owes $23,750 in fines

The campaign committee Committee for Ed Smith owes a $250 fine imposed on Oct. 2, 2008, according to Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE).

A detailed look reveals the committee owes additional outstanding fines totaling $23,500 with Ed Smith listed as the responsible officer.

ISBE Records dating back to 2003 show 143 area campaign committees owe a combined total of $863,080 in pending fines.
