Rep. Lou Lang’s (D-Skokie) endorsement of J.B. Pritzker for governor is just another piece of House Speaker Michael Madigan's (D-Chicago) plan to put the billionaire in office so that Madigan can keep his hold on power, the Illinois Republican Party said in a recent press release.
"Lou Lang is a top lieutenant and apologist of Mike Madigan and his endorsement of J.B. Pritzker comes as no surprise,” Illinois Republican Party spokesman Aaron DeGroot said in the statement. “Madigan has been steamrolling other Democrats to ensure Pritzker wins the nomination because Pritzker will protect the status quo, defend tax hikes, and expand the power of Madigan's Chicago Machine."
Lang is the deputy majority leader in the House.

The Illinois GOP pointed out a column in Crain’s Chicago Business in which Greg Hinz wrote that Madigan has been “breaking legs behind the scenes to help Pritzker,” citing an earlier endorsement from the AFL-CIO.
