Minorities, women and other disadvantaged business owners are being invited to join the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Chicago South Loop Hotel for an open house explaining the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).
The DBE program is open to businesses like highway construction-related service providers, consultants, suppliers, equipment providers, and rental and trucking services. The open house is meant to help socially and economically disadvantaged individuals who own such businesses learn how they can obtain DBE certification and begin doing business with the state.
IDOT staff will be available to answer questions and provide information about DBE certification and the program.
The Chicago Loop Hotel is located at 11 West 26th Street.
