Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

The Meeting of the Administrative Operations Committee of the Public Building Commission of Chicago was held in the 2nd floor Board Room at the Richard J. Daley Center on June 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm.

The following Committee members were present:

The reading of the minutes of the June 1, 2017 Administrative Operations Committee meeting, which were previously distributed, was dispensed with. Upon motion duly made and seconded the minutes were unanimously adopted.

Pursuant to Section 2.06(g) of the Open Meetings Act, a public comment period was held. No comments or statements were presented by any persons.

The AO Committee heard the following report from the Executive Director.

• A report on the pending bid opening for Contract 1577 for the Dore Elementary School Project located at 7134 West 65th Street.

• A report on the pending bid opening for Contract 1578 for the South Loop Elementary School Project located at 1601 South Dearborn Street.

The AO Committee accepted the reports from the Executive Director.

The AO Committee heard the following recommendation and reports from the Director of Procurement Raven DeVaughn.

• A specialty consultant task order issued to Weaver Consultants Group North Central, LLC, for surveyor services in the sum of $11,568.00 for the Prussing Elementary School Annex Project.

• A specialty consultant task order issued to Landmark Engineering, LLC, for surveyor services in the sum of $10,800.00 for the Columbia Explorers Academy Modular Building.

• Architect of Record task orders for design services were awarded to the following firms;

- Studio ARQ, a MBE firm, in the sum of $1,026,060.00 for the Ebinger Elementary School Annex

- EC Purdy, a MBE firm, in the sum of $930,249.00 for Mt. Greenwood Elementary School Annex

- STL Architects, a MBE firm, in the sum of $3,560,063.00 for the Read Dunning Middle School

• Architect of Record task orders were also awarded to Bailey Edward Design, a WBE firm, for facility assessment services at the following Chicago Park District fieldhouse renovation projects; - Austin Town Hall in the sum of $49,898.00 - Columbus Park in the sum of $46,143.39 - Lincoln Park Cultural Center in the sum of $33,765.33 - Fosco Park in the sum of $38,032.92 - Harrison Park in the sum of $26,073.05, and - La Follette Park in the sum of $43,825.72

• A recommendation to approve an amendment to the assigned Architect of Record agreement with Gensler Architecture in the sum of $16,500.00. This amendment is for additional design and engineering services for enhancements to the signage elements at the Thomas Hughes Children’s Library Renovation Project.

• A recommendation to approve an amendment to the Architect of Record agreement with SMNG-A in the sum of $15,043.00. This amendment represents additional design and engineering services associated with revisions to site fencing at the Southeast Area Elementary School Project.

• A recommendation to approve an amendment to the Architect of Record agreement with Architrave, an MBE firm, in the sum of $16,000.00. This amendment represents additional design and engineering services associated with revisions to the mechanical system at the hearing impaired classrooms as well as a new fire alarm in the building engineer’s office at the Jamieson Elementary School Annex Project. It was reported that all amendments are within the project budgets.

The AO Committee accepted the reports provided by the Director of Procurement.

The Chief Development Officer advised the committee that two field orders was issued as follows;

Hughes Children’s Library – Harold Washington Library Center / Contractor: C1575 Path Construction Company – Original Contract Amount: $1,671,000.00.

Approved Contract Change Orders: $15,594.72. Adjusted Contract to Date: $1,686,594.72.

016 6/6/2017 $34,727.00 Provide enhanced wayfinding and graphics at areas within the Children's Library space.

Total $34,727.00

Jamieson Elementary School Annex /Contractor: C1567 Old Veteran Construction – Original Contract Amount: $12,989,000.00.

Approved Contract Change Orders: $42,400.00 Adjusted Contract to Date: $13,031,400.00

059 6/8/2017 $4,500.00 Furnish and install fire alarm device in Building Engineer's Office.

Total $4,500.00

The Chief Development Officer also provided a recommendation to approve a change order in the total sum of $63,625.82. This change includes replacement of existing acoustical ceiling tile and HVAC diffusers. The change also includes revisions to the 2-hour fire rated partition requirements at the storage room at the Thomas Hughes Children’s Library Renovation Project.

The AO Committee accepted the reports provided by the Chief Development Officer.

An Executive Session was convened pursuant to 51LCS 120/2(11) for the purpose of presentation of reports by Legal Counsel, regarding proposed settlements with F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielsen and Associates, LLC pursuant to Contract 1474 and Contract 1502R.

During Executive Session, the AO Committee was advised by Legal Counsel regarding proposed settlements with F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielsen and Associates, LLC pursuant to Contract 1474 for the Kelly Curie Gage Park High School (n/k/a Eric J. Solorio High School) and Contract 1502R for the 31st Street Harbor-Coastal Project.

The Administrative Operations Committee reconvened and accepted the reports provided by Legal Counsel.

The meeting was adjourned.
