Campaign spending: Ortiz raised $187K ahead of primary victory

Aaron Ortiz raised $35 per vote cast for him in the 1st House District Democratic primary race in March compared to incumbent Dan Burke's $140 per vote, according to the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform.

In all, the contentious primary raised $839,519.

The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform analyzed how much candidates in the most contested state races raised per vote they received in the Illinois Primary on March 20. The analysis is based on contribution disclosures between Jan. 1, 2017 and March 20.
