New IL State Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on May 9.
The Illinois Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for
the 10th Annual Economic Development in Illinois Awards – the Edies.
The Edies honor outstanding economic development projects completed in the calendar year of
2017 that imagine, design, invest, build and bring jobs, growth and prosperity to Illinois
communities.
The Illinois Chamber is again pairing with the Illinois Economic Development Association (IEDA) to
present the awards. The 2018 Edies are sponsored by Nicor Gas, a leader in economic development.
“The Edies are an initiative that encourages a thriving economy and provides businesses with
opportunity to expose their positive economic accomplishments,” said David Young, chair of the
IEDA.
“We have seen a tremendous amount of phenomenal economic development projects be submitted
over the years and have no doubt this year the bar will be set even higher. It is an honor to highlight
the best of these projects through the Edie Awards,” said Illinois Chamber of Commerce President
and CEO Todd Maisch.
Traditionally nominations are made by economic development leaders. Nominations are being
