Graduates earn 2,010 degrees, certificates from Columbia College Chicago

About 60 percent of the 2,010 degrees and certificates handed out by the Columbia College Chicago in 2016-17 were to students in Visual and Performing Arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Chicago conferred 1147 bachelor's degrees and 60 master's degrees in Visual and Performing Arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Cinematography and Film/Video Production. Data shows the school gave out 339 bachelor's degrees in Cinematography and Film/Video Production, followed by 118 bachelor's degrees in Retail Management and 108 bachelor's degrees in Graphic Design.

The college enrolled 8,120 students for 2016-17, including 7,809 in undergraduate programs and 311 in graduate programs.
