Graduates earn 2,775 degrees from Illinois Institute of Technology

About 33.1 percent of the 2,775 degrees and certificates handed out by the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2016-17 were to students in Engineering programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Chicago conferred 558 master's degrees and 322 bachelor's degrees in Engineering programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in Computer Science. Data shows the school gave out 365 master's degrees in Computer Science, followed by 226 doctor's degrees in Law and 218 master's degrees in Information Technology.

The institute enrolled 7,730 students for 2016-17, including 2,944 in undergraduate programs and 4,786 in graduate programs.
