The Chicago Fire Department responded to 32,794 calls in 2017 - 4.2 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.
The calls in Chicago included 11,053 fires - 5,932 structure fires, 1,836 vehicle fires and 3,285 other fires. The fire department also responded to 223 calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $50,881,540 in fire loss - or about $4,603 per fire.
The department also received 21,518 false calls, including 1,262 malicious calls and 20,256 other false calls.
The calls resulted in 102 civilian fire-related injuries and 24 civilian fire-related deaths. Additionally, 98 fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents and 81 were injured in non-fire-related incidents.
The Chicago Fire Department had an annual budget of $10,842,038 in 2017.
