Administration responds to 74 fires in 2017

Administration responded to 873 calls in 2017 - 5.5 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Administration included 74 fires - 31 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 40 other fires. The fire department also responded to six calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,363,155 in fire loss - or about $18,421 per fire.

The department also received 793 false calls, including seven malicious calls and 786 other false calls.

The calls resulted in three civilian fire-related injuries. Additionally, three fire service member were injured in non fire-related incidents.
