CITY WINERY: City Winery Celebrates Tomato & Vine This August

City Winery issued the following announcement on July 19.

Rich, robust tomato dishes are one of wine’s oldest culinary companions. Starting August 1st in The Barrel Room Restaurant, Tomato & Vine brings the two together for five weeks of delicious specials prepared by Head Chef Nick Anderson with wine pairings curated by Beverage Director J.R. Smith.

Each week features a tomato-based appetizer and entrée, each with an accompanying City Winery wine.

Tomato & Vine Menu

Week 1 – August 1st-5th:

Appetizer: Tomato Gazpacho $8

Wine: Sweet & Simple White 2017, Lumpkin County, GA $9

Entrée: Tomato Basil Ricotta Flatbread topped with Cherry Tomato Salad $16

Wine: Sangiovese 2016, Chalk Hill AVA, Sonoma, CA $11

Week 2 – August 6th-12th:

Appetizer: Tomato Cucumber Salad $8

Wine: Estate Blanc 2017, Lumpkin County, GA $9

Entrée: Open Faced Pork Belly BLT $14

Wine: Pinot Noir 2016, Willamette Valley, OR $11

Week 3 – August 13th-19th:

Appetizer: Tomato Carpaccio $10

Wine: Rosé of Syrah 2017, North Coast, CA $10

Entrée: Tomato Basil Ricotta Flatbread topped with Cherry Tomato Salad $16

Week 4 – August 20th-26th:

Appetizer: Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes with Homemade Boursin $6
