At American Islamic College, 56 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 50 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Chicago enrolled 25 students in fall 2017, including 16 in undergraduate and 9 in graduate programs, data shows. No undergraduates transferred from another college or university.
Among undergraduates, 67 percent are residents of Illinois, and 33 percent are residents of other states.
The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African-American (38 percent) and white (38 percent).
